Bags of Bran

I was just reading along, minding my own business.

“But intuitive acts may invite theoretical reflection. Riding a bicycle does not invite it, for the skill is easily acquired, and the rewards of deeper study are few” (Daniel M. Doriani, Putting the Truth to Work: The Theory and Practice of Biblical Application, 31).

This author has permanently marred an otherwise (thus far, I’m on page 31) enjoyable read. Every time I look at this book henceforth, I am going to have to reenact the process of forgiveness for this comment.

Then there is James White, director of Alpha and Omega Ministries and cult debater extraordinaire. He rides about 8000 miles a year, which is about double my best output. I suppose I could let him know of Doriani’s supercilious dismissal of a noble mode of conveyance and calorie consumption.

I’m sure Dr. White would have a debate scheduled with Dr. Doriani within a month.

I wonder if the question of modesty and cycling clothes would come up…
